 Dr. John ZumanAffiliate Consultant For the past 14 years, John Zuman has led successful international schools in Latin America, USA and Europe. As Head of School, he has gained extensive understanding of school functioning and leadership and is now applying his experience in his role as a consultant, coach and mentor for educational leaders, administrators and faculty.
His areas of specialty include strategic and facilities planning, including financial and enrollment projections and indicators of progress; international school accreditation; International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum certification and implementation for students in grades K-12; and implementation of student assessment processes that guide and inform individual student learning, curriculum development and school academic progress and outcomes. Dr. John Zuman began his career as a high school mathematics, science and computer teacher. He then worked at a math and science education development center and as Executive Director of the Intercultural Center for Research in Education, a non-profit educational institution dedicated to education improvement projects world-wide. He has worked on education projects in 20 countries, partnering with schools, universities and ministries of education. He is lead author of several science and literacy curricula funded by the National Science Foundation and the US Department of Education. Dr. Zuman holds a Bachelor of Science degree from MIT and Ed.M. and Ed.D. degrees in Educational Administration from Harvard University. He is a native of the Czech Republic and is fluent in English and Spanish. He is a member of the Academy of International School Heads and provides coaching and mentoring to new and aspiring heads through AISH.
