 Dr. Sheila BoehningAffiliate Consultant Dr. Boehning is passionate about empowering leaders to empower teachers to empower students to create learning cultures that lead to academic growth. Supporting staff and training them to make effective educational decisions has been a hallmark of her administrative career. The framework she has developed has proven successful in a myriad of educational settings.
Dr. Boehning has over 30 years of experience in the field of education. She has led K-12 schools as an executive director, elementary principal, middle school principal, and high school principal. At the university level, she has served as a department chairperson and taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Her educational journey has allowed her to lead schools in the United States as well as abroad. She was an ACSI certified principal in the Dominican Republic and was responsible for the middle school and a partner school in the barrio. She has experienced various types of education as an administrator including public schools, private schools, charter schools, and faith-based schools. These schools have been onsite, online, and hybrid. As an educator in Indiana, she received the MIRA award for her use of technology in education. As a high school administrator, she was recognized as one of the top ten administrators in Michigan. Dr. Boehning is adept at online, virtual and hybrid education models and has assisted universities in developing online programs, helped K-12 districts introduce online programs, has written curriculum for programs and developed programs used internationally. The last several years, she has been a leader of virtual schools. Dr. Boehning holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from Calvin University, a B.A. in English from Cornerstone University, an M.A. in English with an emphasis on professional writing from Western Michigan University, and a PhD with an emphasis on faculty and curriculum development as well as adult learners from Capella University. She holds elementary teaching licenses, a reading specialist license, secondary English and Social Studies teaching licenses, and K-12 administrative licenses in both Indiana and Michigan. Dr. Boehning is passionate about supporting administrators and teachers as they meet the educational needs of students today all over the world. She and her husband reside in Ada, Michigan.
