The school start-up process must begin by developing a thorough understanding of the values and vision of the school owners. Then a wide variety of market data needs to be collected and analyzed. Based on this information, a robust financial model is developed. The financial model becomes the foundation for financial forecasting, raising capital, establishing fees and tuition, and ultimately for making a “go/no-go” decision about whether to move ahead with the start-up.
