Proprietary schools and other privately owned schools are in the vanguard of the explosive growth in international schooling and are often exemplary of schools committed to providing innovative educational programs and services. There is a myriad of ownership models among privately owned schools, including individuals, partners, families, investors, corporations, churches, missions, etc., and there are commonalities of challenges and opportunities faced by these privately owned schools.

Dr. Wells, Principal of the GLOBAL Group, was at the forefront of efforts to facilitate broader acceptance of proprietary schools in the community of international school schools, working to overcome barriers to international accreditation and encouraging acceptance of this rapidly growing and highly successful segment of the international school community.
 
The unique opportunities and challenges facing this category of schools are seldom the focus of the gatherings of school leaders. The GLOBAL School Consulting Group’s School Owner Roundtables are the exception, as we intentionally focus entirely on the needs and interests of school owners. These unique events address ownership topics and rely heavily on peer expertise and experience through participant-driven dialogue.
