"Never before in history have parents faced so many choices on how to best educate their children. For globally mobile families, the number of factors to consider in choosing a school is amplified. Finally, help has come! Wrobbel describes all options clearly, listing the benefits and challenges of each so parents can make well-informed choices. I highly recommend it!”

RUTH E. VAN REKEN, Cofounder, Families in Global Transition

Karen’s interests extend beyond her primary interest in the education of globally mobile kids. She enjoys the accreditation process and has served on and chaired numerous peer review teams for the Association of Christian School, International (ACSI), including joint visits with WASC and the Middle States Association. Dr. Wrobbel has presented at educational conferences on a variety of topics focused on improving teaching and learning, as well as the integration of faith and learning in Christian schools, including presentations in Spanish for ACSI’s Academia de Liderazgo and for the Asociación de Colegios y Educadores de Colombia.

Dr. Wrobbel earned her EdD in educational policy and administration from the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities), her MA in educational ministries from Wheaton College Graduate School (IL), and her BA in liberal studies from Biola University. Her doctoral research focused on the experiences of missionary kids in host country schools, and provided policy recommendations for parents as well as for the companies and agencies that place families internationally. Dr. Wrobbel’s master’s level research examined the psychosocial development of adults who were raised globally.
